Android(AOSP) is an open source project since it is based on Linux kernel. It’s free to develop, manipulate, customize the source codes without any issue if you have basic idea on it. One thing you can do to turn your outdated phone into a new, updated and completely customized, new looking, in fact a good user interface that supports all the features of newest Android update is by ROOTING the phone. In this I give you on “How to root your device” and on “How to Install Android 5.0 Lollipop On Samsung Galaxy Y GT-s5360.”
Before you Install Android 5.0 Lollipop on your Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360, the device must be rooted. So before installing lollipop custom ROM, have a look at what really rooting mean.
WHAT IS ROOTING?
Do you own an Android phone? Then all you need to do to tweak your phone is “Rooting”. This also helps you to increase your phone/tablet performance. But, you might be facing few problems regarding battery life, some network issues, over heating. Out of all RAM & Memory Management can be overwhelmed by this process. Isn’t this what you need? Who would care for a battery these days? No smartphone today is capable of giving a good battery life. So, you might not be considering it as a problem at all after rooting your device.
What does Rooting actually mean? Well, its just like ice-cream in a cup of salad. It helps to enjoy the real taste of Android. Wondering How? Simple, it grants us some Administrative privileges to get our complete hands on it. By this you can drive your phone to the way want. But remember-“ROOTING VOIDS YOUR WARRANTY“. It is better if you root your phone once your warranty period is completed. However, you can un-root it back to gain your warranty. So, it isn’t any big issue.
What now? Decided to root your phone? I would say it is the wise decision. It increases your authority over your phone to customize and also overcomes minor bugs. Few applications like ROM manager,Titanium back-up,Chain-Fire 3d etc, lets you put your fingers into a fascinating world. These apps need higher permissions that can be provided only after you root your device. By rooting, you can see an application called ‘SUPERUSER‘ that plays a key role while trying to install the above listed applications.
Rooting – In Depth
What does Rooting do? Is it some kind of magic that only coders can do? No, even a pure newbie can perform this operation without any flaws (without bricking the phone). Only thing is, you need to follow few steps available on XDA-Forums. Rooting gives a room for those who’re excited to tweak their phone/tablet. You can achieve it by flashing some MODs/custom ROMsthrough a BIOS kind-of firmware called ‘Recovery mode‘. You get this pre-installed with your stock ROM that you get when you first buy your phone. There are some custom recovery modes available, like Clockworkmod, TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) that offers us with greater options to manage the OS. But beware while flashing a custom ROM by counter checking the full details of it because there are several phones with same custom ROM names. So, check for the custom ROMs according to your phone/tablet model else you may have chances of hard bricking (killing to death) your device. Using an android phone without rooting is like keeping a chocolate in your hands and not eating it. So why late?? Taste the real flavor of Android now by following the links below.
