Computers are an essential part of our daily life. Computers/PCs/Laptops carry the same software for correct functionality and it is vital to backup the data on our PC or laptop in case it crashes due to any known or unknown cause. All of the previous Windows operating systems come with a backup utility to allow you to back up all the files on your hard disk. Similarly the Mac operating system (OSX) also has great built-in backup utilities so it only takes a few steps to get started. Dropbox is one of the most popular backup applications. It is effortless albeit with one big limitation – all the targeted files and folders need to be residing inside the main Dropbox folder before they can be sent to the cloud. 1. You have to launch SyncToy and create a new folder pair. 
2. You have to repeat SyncToy for every folder that you want to back up using Dropbox. 
3. You have to enter taskschd.msc in the Windows Run box to start the Task Scheduler .

Backup of Mac Operating System :-

Get a backup external drive which may be any USB external hard drive or internal drive. Try to get one that
has twice as much space as your computer. This provides room for multiple backups and all the data you might
When you plug in your drive, your Mac will ask you if you want to use that drive as a backup disk. Hit “Use as Backup Disk”. If you do not see the button, then you can go to System Preferences > Time Machine to set it as a backup disk too. Then click the Select Backup Disk button in Time Machine and choose your external drive where you want to save the backup. 

Once it is finished, the Operating System will perform its first backup but you want to keep your computer on, and from then on it'll back up in the background with no work required on your part.

If you need to restore any file, then just click on the Time Machine icon in your menu bar and hit "Enter Time Machine" and check your file(s). On the other hand, you can search through your old backups for the files you lost and restore them to your hard drive anytime and anywhere.
