Finally, the most awaited smartphone – Samsung Galaxy Note 3 – is official. The Note 3 was announced earlier at IFA 2013 which was held in Berlin. The new Galaxy Note is much better than all the previous versions. It comes in 9 different colors. The most amazing thing about Note 3 is its design – It’s not the old traditional Note’s design, the corners are sharper and the bezels are slimmer.
Not only this, the device is packed with a whole bunch of new features and enhancements. Thereby, providing much better user experience.
The hardware
The new slimmer, lighter and bigger version of the Galaxy Note features a 5.7-inch HD 1080p Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 386. It measures 8.3mm and weighs about 168 grams. It will be available in two different versions – One is 4G LTE version and the other is 3G version. The 4G LTE version will be powered by a 2.3 Ghz quad-core Krait 400 processor and the 3G version will have an 1.9 Ghz Exynos Octa CPU. Both will have 3GB of RAM. There will be an internal storage of 32/64 GB with expandable storage up to 64 GB. It will run on Android JellyBean 4.3.
Samsung has also updated the camera in the Note 3. It’s a 13 megapixel autofocus full HD back-facing camera with high CRI LED flash along with 2 megapixel HD front-facing camera. The camera will have features such as Dual Shot, Simultaneous HD video and image recording, Smart Stabilization, Panorama, etc.

This allows us to handwrite notes, phone numbers and email addresses. The software not only recognizes our handwriting but also allows us to call or mail from the number or email address that we just wrote.
Scrapbook
Scrapbook enables users to track down or organize the content from various sources including the web. It can put YouTube and Gallery together so that users can easily look at their collection from one place.
Screen Write
This allows us to take a full page snapshot of the current window and edit it right after capturing. You can write comments or notes on the captured image by using this feature.
S Note
This allows to write, organize, browse and edit the notes. This feature is with the Note series since birth.
Multi Window
This feature allows you to run two apps side-by-side. For example, you can read your mails while watching videos on YouTube.
Pen Window
This allows users to open a small application window anywhere on the screen for better multitasking experience. All you need to do is draw a window anywhere on the screen, now you can easily open application window such as Calculator, Browser, etc.
Samsung Knox
This is a new security feature by Samsung. “Knox allows users to run and store security-sensitive applications and data inside a protected execution environment called container.”, Samsung said. It will help fighting against malware, phishing attacks and hacking attempts.
The new back
Yep, it’s a new leather-like back. It feels really comfortable and expensive in hands. This soft-textured back can also be detached to pullout the battery. Samsung will be selling replaceable back covers of various colours. This new back cover is really awesome.
Release Date
Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Note 3 will be available in stores from 25th September. But still there’s no word on pricing yet. We think that it will be priced around 800 USD.
